Jacquelyn Campbell, Headmaster  

Jacquelyn D. Campbell
Headmaster
Jackie Campbell is a graduate of Lovett School in Atlanta. She earned the B.S.Ed, Masters in Elementary Education, Leadership Degree and Ed.S. degrees at the University of Georgia. A life-long resident of Watkinsville, Campbell taught in Oconee County as well as at Athens Academy from 1980 - 1995. She has been a school administrator in Barrow and Gwinnett Counties since 1995. Campbell has most recently served as Assistant Principal at Jenkins Elementary School in Lawrenceville.

Cindy Mixon  

Cindy Mixon
Reading Support Specialist and Assistant to the Headmaster
Ms. Mixon holds the Education Specialist Degree in Early Childhood and is also certified in Middle Grades education. She has over 30 years’ experience in teaching elementary students. Ms. Mixon also has experience as adjunct faculty at Georgia Technical College where she prepares students to become paraprofessionals for daycares and early childhood classrooms.

Arthur, Stashia
Lead Teacher
Mrs. Arthur is a recent graduate of Georgia College & State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Her studies at GCSU included two years of field placement experiences in K-5 classrooms. During and prior to her college experience she worked at a local daycare where she accumulated five years’ experience working with preschoolers. Mrs. Arthur’s instruction is characterized by differentiated instruction to meet the needs of the individual learner. She also uses a lot of small group instruction with hands-on involvement.

Copelan, Julie
Lead Teacher
Ms. Copelan holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education: Exercise Science from Georgia College & State University. She spent several years working with community initiatives educating audiences ranging from preschoolers to senior citizens in healthy lifestyle habits. This also included state-wide train-the-trainer experiences, cultivating community relationships, and maximizing local resources. She has additional certification in Gifted Education and has implemented those strategies into her teaching strategies at REA. Ms. Copelan has additional training in reading and math. She enjoys time with her family, serving her church in various leadership roles, and assisting her husband with his business.

Cronic, Chrissy Vasconcelos
Spanish
Ms. Cronic holds a BBA from the University of Georgia. She is a native Portuguese and Spanish speaker with experience living in South America. Señora Cronic has also chaperoned large student groups to Spain for international studies. Ms. Cronic is pursuing a Masters in Education with concentration in Spanish.

Dickens, Connie
After School Program Director
Ms. Dickens holds the BS degree in elementary education from East Carolina University, but spent most of her career as a customer service agent with Delta Air Lines before her first retirement. She then taught for four years in Greene County elementary schools before a second retirement. Ms. Dickens is in her fourth year as after school director for Redeemer and has also worked in our summer camp. She plans a variety of interesting activities for the children and keeps them in safe, nurturing environment for the extended day.

Forbes  

Forbes, Susan
School Substitute
Mrs. Forbes is a Master Teacher from Cobb County schools with certification in elementary and middle grades, a special education endorsement and a M.Ed. in elementary and middle grades. She has been teaching for over 15 years. She and her husband are residents of Madison and they have grown children.

Hutchings, Barbara
Lead Teacher
Ms. Hutchings holds the Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has done graduate work in intensive German language study and is proficient in written and oral German. Ms. Hutchings has extensive elementary teaching experience for kindergarteners and fourth graders. She also has international teaching experience as a missionary in Liberia and Austria.

Kennedy, Heather
Lead Teacher
Mrs. Kennedy holds a Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Education, with an emphasis on Educational Leadership, from Troy State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grade from Georgia College & State University. She comes to Redeemer with 12 years of public school classroom experience. She has obtained her math endorsement from Piedmont College, completed training for Georgia Leadership for School Improvement, and completed 50 hours of Integrating Technology (InTech). Mrs. Kennedy is currently pursuing an additional certification in the field of Library Media from Georgia College& State University as well as her English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement from North Georgia College & State University.

Lawrence, Shayla
Teaching Assistant
Prior to coming to Redeemer, Ms. Lawrence was the assistant director and lead teacher for a local daycare. She has over 10 years’ experience working with preschool children and is familiar with the certification procedures of licensed daycares. She recently added a Highly Qualified Status to her Georgia Paraprofessional Certification and she continues to participate in continuing education classes mandated by the state.

Leach, Kim
Lead Teacher
Ms. Leach holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Troy State University. Her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education comes from Mercer University. She also holds certification in Gifted Education. Prior to joining the staff of Redeemer, Ms. Leach successfully implemented scientifically-based reading strategies in her public school classroom while participating in the Reading First grants. Her classroom has served as a model for other teachers.

Strickland, Jim
Science/Math/ Exercise Health
Mr. Strickland holds a Master’s Degree in Outdoor Education Administration from Georgia College & State University. His Bachelor’s Degree in Biology comes from Georgia Southwestern State University. He also holds certifications in Biology, Science, and Middle Grades Science. Prior to joining the staff of Redeemer, Mr. Strickland has successfully managed summer camp programs in Bellevue, WA, created experiential recreation programs utilizing low and high challenge courses and served as founding director of a boys and girls summer camp in Glorieta, NM. He also has three years experience of teaching science.

Sutton, Robyn
Lead Teacher
Ms. Sutton is a 2009 graduate of Georgia College & State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Not only was she voted the Outstanding Student by her peers, but she won the Outstanding Academic Achievement award and a Professional Achievement award. Ms. Sutton was sought as a faculty member at Redeemer because of her achievement as a pre-service teacher, as well as for her extra-curricular interests in photography, outdoor recreation and fitness, and technology. In time, Ms. Sutton will incorporate her extra-curricular interests into the Redeemer program.
