Founding
Redeemer Episcopal Academy was founded in 2007. It is affiliated with the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro, Georgia. We used it as an example for pros and cons for homework in our recent studies.

Enrollment
Total enrollment for grades K-3 through 5th (2010-2011): 90
Minority enrollment: 16%

Average Class Size:  11

Average Student/Teacher Ratio: 8:1
Redeemer has the smallest Student/Teacher Ratio in the Lake Oconee area.

Academics
In addition to the four major disciplines (Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science), Redeemer is able to give broad attention to the humanities with a focus on the fine arts.

Daily Foreign Language
Beginning in K-3, all Redeemer Students enjoy a full class period of daily foreign language instruction.
We invite letter writers for hire who are engaged in writing articles in different languages, so that children are surrounded by linguists and can personally hear from them and communicate freely in the chosen language.
Music
With a full-time music instructor, students are taught fundamental components for music appreciation and theory and participate in choral and musical performances throughout the year.
Art
Art history, appreciation, and application are incorporated into lessons at each grade level.
Physical Education
Redeemer offers an extensive physical education program tailored appropriately for each grade level.
Reading Instruction
Redeemer employs a Reading Specialist for individualized work with students as they develop emerging reading skills. In addition, teachers in the early grades are trained in how to teach reading. Much of our content is taught through independent reading.

Faculty
All of Redeemer’s faculty hold education degrees and are certified in their fields. Many hold advanced degrees and/or coursework.

Service area
Redeemer is centrally located between Greene, Putnam, Morgan and Baldwin Counties. Students come from four counties in the Lake Oconee area:
• Greensboro 45%
• Putnam 37%
• Morgan 8%
• Baldwin 7%

Expansion
REA has a visionary strategic plan that includes cutting edge technology, adding at least one grade each year, building a permanent campus, and continuing to offer the most rigorous academics in the Lake Oconee area. Redeemer will continue to add a new grade level each year until it reaches 12th grade. Redeemer has now expanded into Middle Grades and is currently enrolling students in grades K-3 through 6th grade. New students are admitted when space is available.

Tuition
Pre-K3: $5,400
Pre-K4: $6,400
K-6th: $8,500

Financial Aid
More than $82,000 in financial aid assistance was granted to students in 2010-2011 through the GOAL Scholarship, Nathe Scholarship Fund and John Cooper Scholarship Fund. Financial aid awards are given for demonstrated financial need.

Accreditation
Redeemer Episcopal Academy is accredited by The Georgia Accrediting Commission. We have just reached the age of being eligible to apply for SACS accreditation and are forming a committee to pursue that accreditation.

Test Scores
Redeemer faculty use tests and assessments that provide the most information to improve instruction for individual students. Beginning in second grade students are tested with the CogAT® and ITBS in alternate grades, and the individual student profiles are used to plan instructional strategies for each student.

Athletics
As Redeemer is yet too young to compete in varsity sports, the school is preparing any interested future athletes through after-school sports programs, camps, and participation in local recreational sports teams. As the school and its students grow, the Redeemer Lions will compete in a variety of varsity level sports.

Extra-curricular Activities
In addition to the various Off-Campus Learning Activities designed to enhance classroom learning, Redeemer offers students the opportunities to participate in several different clubs and organizations including the gardening club, science club, choral, and dance groups. Private piano lessons are offered during the After School Program.

Chapel Services
All Redeemer students attend chapel services once a week. These services are adapted in an age-appropriate manner, grounded in Anglican tradition and expressed through a Christian orientation. Parents and friends are invited to attend each chapel service.

School Day
Redeemer begins classes at 8 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m., or 2:45 p.m. for preschool classes. Early drop off is available at 7:15 a.m., at no charge, and an After School Program is available from 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., for an extra charge.

Uniform
All Redeemer students are required to wear the specified school uniform each day.
