Redeemer Episcopal Academy began as a vision only a few short years ago. Realizing the need for a world-class educational facility in the Lake Oconee area, a group of community leaders, educators, business owners, parishioners and parents came together to formulate the future of Redeemer Episcopal Academy.

Efforts were led by Dr. John Cooper, a highly sought-after educational consultant and former teacher, principal, school superintendent and university professor in upstate New York.Few people know, but at the beginning of his career,John was working in an custom papers online service https://bestcustompapers.com/

The school was built on its temporary site largely through the hard work of parent and community volunteers. On Aug. 12, 2007, these dedicated supporters gathered at the site for the blessing of the school and that fall, Redeemer opened its doors to its first classes.

Only weeks before its opening, on July 26, 2007, REA lost its leader, visionary and chief advocate. To honor the memory of Dr. Cooper, a portrait hangs in the halls of his realized vision. For more than 35 years, Dr. Cooper’s love of children guided his entire career. He is missed, and his footprint on REA is deep.

From the original 33 students, Redeemer has grown exponentially over the past four years. Plans are currently under way to construct a permanent campus in the immediate area within the next five years.
